What is Cyber Essentials Certification?
Cyber Essentials is a UK government information assurance scheme, operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (a part of GCHQ). It, therefore, encourages organisations to adopt good IT practices in relation to cybersecurity and data security.
Cyber Essentials is an assurance framework that contains a set of security controls, to protect data from risks and threats coming from the internet. Furthermore, the standard was developed in collaboration with the UK Government and industry partners, such as:
- The Information Security Forum;
- The Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises Consortium; and
- The British Standards Institution.

Education Host attained its Cyber Essentials certificate on the 29th of January 2020.
What Does It Mean For Me?
Cyber Essentials is a standard that deals with cybersecurity. Obtaining Cyber Essentials, therefore, ensures that Education Host has is compliant in relation to cybersecurity and its associated data risks.
