Executive Summary
Pedmore CE Primary School is a primary school based in the West Midlands with 220 students on roll. They were looking for a reliable web hosting service provider who work in the Education sector to provide a school web hosting package with support.
Challenges
Pedmore CE Primary School reached out to Education Host looking for a certificate to add to their site, which was being hosted elsewhere. When they found this was not easy to do with their previous host, Education Host was able to provide a solution. David Dunn – Head Says “There was no pressure to move hosting (although the deal we were on would be up very soon anyway), but we felt it was a good move to make”.
The requirement
Pedmore CE Primary School and Education Host discussed requirements which was that the website featured Secure Socket Layer (SSL) – so that visitors could visit the site over https, that it should be easy and pain-free (!) with good support if required.
The requirement also included migration of their current site, completed out of working hours, to the new infrastructure.
In addition, Education Host was to advise on the best technologies to use to ensure the security and speed of the site. Including upgrading PHP to the latest version.
Outcomes
Education Host used its years of expertise in this field to migrate the website to the new infrastructure, out of working hours. Education Host has worked closely with Pedmore CE Primary School to ensure a smooth transition and provided support on way to secure and speed up the site. Including upgrading to the latest version of PHP.
