The Education Host student web hosting platform is white-labelled to your school, college, or university and integrates seamlessly with your Active Directory (Entra). At its core, a cPanel account is provided for every student and lecturer. To support the submission of assignments and the teaching of web technologies. Additional functionality is provided by Education Host in the form of the Student Web Host Manager. Onboarding, Client Area & Control Panel

Onboarding: Our solution, built specifically for education, provides simple onboarding for your students, lecturers and supporting staff. Interfacing directly with Active Directory, users can either sign up for the service, be added by teaching staff or be bulk imported.

Client Area & Control Panel:  Students are taken to our easy-to-use client area, allowing Single Sign-On to our industry-standard web hosting management interface,  cPanel.

Lecturers and supporting staff are taken to the management dashboard, a central dashboard for complete management of the solution. The management dashboard allows them to manage users, modules, courses, assigning users to modules, student extensions, module blocks (if enabled), and intake periods. In addition, they also receive access to their own cPanel account.

 

Single Sign-On (Onboarding for Students & Lecturers)

We have created the ultimate platform to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) to your students. Allowing onboarding and service login with the student’s university login details (No more remembering extra passwords!).

To streamline this process further and to remove the need for users to manually sign up, users can also be added individually by teaching staff or bulk uploaded by the system administrator.

We have designed the system in such a way that we can alter the platform to any method of authentication, be it Azure Active Directory, ADFS or Oauth (over 500 authentication methods supported).

Student Management

Our custom-built management dashboard allows lecturers to manage all student accounts and manage the modules they are taking and add any extensions that the user may have (supporting both standard and resit extensions).

The management dashboard allows lecturers to single sign-on to any student accounts for ease of marking.

 

Course & Location Management

Manage the logical assignment of modules within the courses they are in. A folder is created within each student cPanel account for each module they are taking within a course.
Courses can be taught at one or more locations, giving you the flexibility to run courses at one or many teaching locations.

Module Management

Each module is set up in the student’s cPanel account so that the work can be added to the provided folder and accessed over the internet.
Modules can have a type of either pinned, core, or elective.
Modules can either be provided with an end date (or multiple end dates in a year – depending on the number of times it occurs in the year) or be part of a block of modules with an end date for multiple modules.
When a module ends, the cPanel folder is located for the marking duration + any extension periods. If the module is part of a block of modules, then the user account is locked for the marking duration + any extensions.

Free Student Subdomains & SSL

Each student is provided with their own subdomain, based on their university ID, accessible to the world on a domain of your choosing (Included). Each subdomain is available over the internet and is provided with a domain-validated SSL certificate.

Students, teachers, and school account holders have access to our fantastic support via email/phone and our ticketing system.
Each school receives a support portal linked to the student’s client area, where responses are recorded, monitored against Key performance indicators, and responded to within 24 hours.
Live chat is integrated throughout the dedicated solution, making support quick and easy.
